20 December 2009

Our beautiful "Charlotte" Ghostwind Know It All arrived last Tuesday
Val and I made a trip to Hobart for the day to choose from this lovely litter we had been really looking forward to it; we had a lovely day with our friends and a lovely lunch out!

18 June 2009

We have a beautiful brown with tan markings 5 month of female Lagotto Romagnolo puppy available to a good home. "Prada" does not care much for the showring so we don't wish to push her. She is a very happy and affectionate puppy who is used to living at a home with someone home all day. She is an inside and outside dog and has typical puppy attributes.

"Prada" comes from an excellent pedigree, both parents are hip scored therefore her soundness is guaranteed. The only bitch we have from our own CH Greydove Caro Sienna, we wish to have Prada available to us in the future for a litter back, so the right home is needed.

If you would like to consider Prada for your family, please contact Val in the first instance.

AUST Ch Waldwiese Ultimate Angel
Indian CH Waldwiese Uppity Miss (EXP INDIA)
Waldwiese Urban Legend TQT,CCD

This litter is indeed special to us. A puppy will be coming to Greydove as the connection to Sascha is very important for us and we want to incorporate these lines again into our breeding program. We were very sad earlier this year to lose our only 2 puppies from our only Sascha daughter.

Congratulations and good luck to Lois and Claire. What a great opportunity for collaboration between kennels....

28 April 2009

Congratulations go out to David Hartly in Queensland with "Dusty" Greydove Diorissimo who is now over half way to her Australian Championship - well Done David & Dusty.

Congratulations to Michelle & Chris Coulson with "Cooper" CH Greydove Lord Oth Rings CDX ET
Cooper gained his 3rd & final pass and qualification in Open Gundog Working Test on the weekend at the Northern Suburbs Dog Training Club Inc Date under Judge Ms P Lyons 87 Points 2nd Place.

We also hear that Kylie & "Ziggy", Greydove Beldale Baron was also there and also passed and they were the only 2 Weimaraners, both Greydoves at the trial!

There are also a few Greydoves being bred in Europe which is always interesting for us to follow.  At Kan Trace Kennel in Croatia, Naty has done a repeat breeding of CH Greydove at Kan Trace to Multi CH Nobiskrug Allegro.  The first breeding has produced a multi best in show winner for them and top dog all breeds in Croatia for 2008.  We hope their repeat litter brings as much joy!

BISS CH Greydove at Flanders Joy in Belgium has been bred to a lovely dog in Poland BIS workingdog/BISP/BISJRINTER Ch /LT Ch/PL Ch/Jr Ch LE FOL DU VENT FALA LOVE'A - we wish Kobie the best of luck with what we are sure will be a lovely litter.

We also hear news from our friends at Waldweise that LT-LV-EST-BATL JCH LT-LV-LV Club JW'07 LT-LV-EST-BALT CH  LT-PL Club W'08 Waldwiese Silver N Jazz (Imp. Australia) who is in Lithuania and has been bred to Greydove Hot Summer Nite (Sweden) - this litter is confirmed due (now) and we wish Jurate the best of luck with her litter.

Over Easter, at this year's Sydney Royal Easter Show, the Weimaraner Club of NSW manned a breed stall to promote the Weimaraner and many club members and greydove dogs attended the stall...below our State Premier Mr Nathan Rees met up with Michelle Coulson & "Cooper" (CH Greydove Lord Oth Rings CDX ET) and Barry Stevenson & "Coral" (Greydove Brandy Coral)

Noella participated in alot of events with her star performer, Australia's most titled Lagotto KISS CH Greydove Donatella + too many titles to list ! and we got this report from Noella, which is always fun to read:

"After six days of flyball and two obedience nights I was not holding up much hope for today's agility competition. However Kiss was just wonderful. We not only managed to get a qualifying pass in Excellent Agility but came SECOND. Then we backed up in the afternoon and got another qualifying pass in Excellent Jumping, which was the last pass needed for another title. JDX can now be added after her name. She is just such a wonderful dog who just keeps on trying to do all that is asked of her. Now we move into Masters class - that is going to be a challenge."

In true KISS style she then ended her Easter week on the Kerrie-Ann Kennerley show.

23 March 2009

Yesterday we headed up to Erskine Park for a show...we don't get up there regularly.

We had to get all settled quickly as Val and I had to do the mad dash to quarantine to pick up Rose and we had entered her in the show and wanted her to at least get some practice...plenty of time to spare and Sam spent HOURS on her grooming and she marched in like a little trooper and took her first Best of Breed ribbon.....

Lottie, Greydove Music Oth Nite AI is close to having those babies and BOY IS SHE FAT...!!!!

Coco, CH Greydove Emilia, Lagotto also will be ultrasounded this weekend, she is also FAT and we are sure she is expecting Easter puppies.

Thankfully the Lakeland Rosie, comes out of quaratine on Sunday... we will all be glad to see her home!!!

9 March 2009

Gosh, I have been remiss with not putting any updates up but we have been rather distracted with things at home!

We got over our huge trip away which we just loved, and recently got an updated photo of Margeaux we have added to her page.  A new photo of Prada too, she is definately a handfull.

We have spent a few afternoons visiting with our baby Rose in quarantine, getting ready for her release out of jail.

We did manage to get some showing in during February, Castro won Best of Breed at all the shows he showed at.

Baby Bronte, won Baby in Group weekend before last and we are very happy with her progress, recently she had teeth pulled and a toenail pulled but she is one very happy puppy!!!!!

Other Greydove results, Michelle & Chris and Cooper, CH Greydove Lord of the Rings [+ many titles!] won 2 x Best of Breeds weekend before last...they have been doing very well lately and also participating in doggy dancing!

Val and I are presently spending a few days in Las Vegas.
We have had a lovely couple of days in Connecticut with Alessandra Folz and her new litter out of the World's Top Winning Weimaraner the famous "Marge".
We are fortunate to be adding one of these exceptional pups to our Greydove Team

Look for more news on "Margeaux" upon our return.

10 February 2009

Val and I are making a quick trip to mainland USA for a week....news will be posted whilst there.
Usual email access.

29 January 2009

Sydney has had some extreme weather lately up to 40 degrees on some days and this is definately not the sort of weather that we venture out to dog shows in so its been quiet on that front....albeit comfortable!!!

However, show news from Hawaii, BIS/BISS CH Greydove 'Ekahi Island Gal has earned her BROM, she is the first Australian bred Weimaraner to earn this title.
She is actually the 'first' for many awards in the USA, including winner of AB Best in Show & Specialty BIS.
Together with multi WCA Invitational Top 20 & Eukanuba qualifier.
She now has produced 5 champions with 4 pointed from her two litters.

Our next Weimaraner litter is due 28 March 2009.
Contact Val regarding availability.

Our next Lagotto litter will be bred in February 2009, CH Greydove Emilia will be bred to CH Budoar Walsh Imp Finland, both have Grade B hips so an excellent litter.  Puppies available for show & companions.
See our Lagotto Litters page for details.

We certainly had a spanner thrown in the works on 'Rosie's' arrival.  She had an injury 2 days before flying out of the UK so her arrival has been postponed until 20 Feb.  Bearing in mind the Western Suburbs heat we would not have liked her to have been out at Eastern Creek this month!!!

Prada will also arrive on 20 Feb - co owned by Sam King as Fabio was

18 January 2009

We haven't got alot of news to report.

We are about to breed "Lottie" to "Castro", please take a look at the Current Litters page if you are interested in a  Weimaraner baby.

We have a new addition, DeeLee Prada. 'Prada' is from a litter which is a repeat of one we did ourselves in 2007 so we were keen to get a puppy from this litter.  She will debut in April.

We had two shows this weekend up at Hillsborough, Castro, CH Ghostwind Smokin' Gun taking Best of Breed at both shows and Intermediate in Group on Friday.

Fantastic New Years news from America !
NEW AMERICAN CHAMPION GREYDOVE EKAHI MELODY AI
West Oahu Kennel Club WB/BOW 4pt Major, finishing her CH with 4 majors.

1 January 2009

We would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year.

Our last show for 2008 was on 27th December - with Castro taking Best of Breed. At her first show the weekend prior, "Coral" won Baby in Group - what a great start to her show career!.

With the finish of the Dogzonline pointscore, we were pleased to see Castro, after only being with us for 5 months, finish #14 Weimaraner Nationally; #4 NSW and #2 male NSW. Over 80 Weimaraners had entered the pointscore for 2008. Not a bad result for Castro - let's see what 2009 brings about!

Those who often read our News!! page will know our show results and our plans that were made during the year BUT we have a few big announcements that have been ‘work in progress’ for the last six months.

The first is the addition of KENDALLA, a new prefix registered as a branch of GREYDOVE. We ventured into registering KENDALLA (an anagram of Lakeland) as we have purchased a Lakeland Terrier bitch from the UK. Rose is from the famous RAYFOS kennel of the Greenways, who have been the top Lakeland Terrier Kennel for many years in the UK. Rose will arrive on 9 January 2009 and we are very excited to be venturing into the terrier ring once again.

The second is the addition of semen from two beautiful dogs we have been well acquainted with for some time now. We would now like to announce the arrival of frozen assets from Am Ch Seabreeze Colsidex N Silhouette "Nick" & Am Ch Poets Graygooses Muddy Mess "Elvis" during 2009. A huge thank you to Cindy & Bruce Cassidy and Nancy Lillehamer for sending us the semen from these two great dogs.

The third is that during the year we were also very fortunate to be offered the pick male from a breeding which will take place in 2009. An opportunity too good to pass up. When this breeding occurs during the year and there is a male for us – then all will be revealed!

And yet there is still more....................... a most exciting import from America - watch this space!!
